2. SUBSITUTES: A curler is required to get his/her own sub for the missed game, and to notify the skip of the absence. If he/she misses more than two (2) consecutive games without obtaining a sub, he/she will be asked to move to the sub list and the curling committee will name a permanent replacement.

3. Substitutes will be drawn from the sub list for the league, in so far as possible.

4. Substitutes MUST play lead or second.
EXCEPTION: When the regular lead or second has less than two years experience, the skip, may place the sub in a higher position to balance the team. When the skip is absent the vice-skip is to assume the skip position.

***Substitute Guideline - All Leagues Cape Cod Curling Club
In keeping with the Spirit of Curling and the sportsmanship of our game, teams should not attempt to gain an advantage because a regular team player is unable to attend a game. When finding a sub try to match the position which needs to be filled i.e. if the lead is unavailable try to find a sub who would normally play lead.

6. For Men's League, only one current men's league skip may play on any given rink. Failure to meet this qualification forfeits the game.

7. For Mixed Leagues a person shall play skip's position on only one of the days of play.

8. All games are to be 8 ends, ties will not be played off. League Standing will be determined on the basis of points for the season, with scoring as follows:
WIN = 2 points
TIE = 1 point
LOSS = 0 points
EXCEPTION: Men's championship games will be 10 ends.

9. If neither team is able to produce a legal rink, the game must be made up either during the week before or the week after the scheduled date, or BOTH teams forfeit any points.

10. All games must start promptly at the scheduled time. Penalties shall be assigned to the tardy team as follows:
For 5 o 15 minutes late - one point & one end
For 16 to 29 minutes late - two points & two ends
