Chaos Curling 2.0

How about being able to take a ‘Mulligan’ on a curling shot that did not go your way, have a wild card to boost your score, tell your Skip to take a hike, have biters score points, shoot your stones like you were playing Bocce?   Welcome to Chaos Curling at the Cape Cod Curling Club.

The 2nd Annual Ice Crew Chaos Challenge was held on November 8,.2025.  This event was the brainchild of Peter Mili and Joanna Schaffer of the Sunday AM ice team to bring all the ice teams together to have some fun and celebrate the ice crew’s contributions to the club.

The event pits the different ice teams, who prepare the ice every week for league play, against each other for some fun, chaotic, and entertaining curling. The chaotic part are the unconventional rules, curated by Peter Mili, that govern play over 6 ends.   If you missed attending the event, you can visit our YouTube page to watch it – good luck figuring out the rules !!

This year’s winners were the Tuesday Ice Team represented by Mark Wilson, Gabriele Bruce, Bob Butcher, and Chuck Teixeira.  Post event conversations included ‘what a blast’, ‘probably the most fun I've ever had curling’, ‘the food was incredible’, ‘especially memorable event’, and ‘this is the event not to be missed all year.’.

Following the competition all the curlers and any club members who chose to join enjoyed a pot luck dinner, coordinated by Joanna Schaffer and, of a variety of delicious dishes contributed by attendees.  Ellie Tenant, Alice Jamal, Michelle O’Brien, and JP Riu organized the potluck for all to enjoy.
