The club’s annual Five and Under Scrod Spiel was held this past weekend. We had
eighteen teams (equaling last year’s record high) compete for the coveted Scrod pin
and their name on the championship plaque. The theme for this year’s event was
Gilligan’s Island as the SS Minnow crashed onto the shores of Falmouth. Paula Howe
and team turned the club into an uncharted island of Gilligan nostalgia with palm trees,
bamboo huts and more.
On Saturday, February 7th, the Bristol Yacht Club hosted an Olympics-themed social event that
brought members together to celebrate their enthusiasm for a variety of Olympic sports. The
evening featured club members sharing their passion for different events, with a special focus on
curling. Ruth Souto and Pat Crawford, who belong to both the Cape Cod Curling Club and
Bristol Yacht Club, played a key role by sharing their enthusiasm for curling with other
attendees.
The 2026 Ray Maguire Bonspiel concluded on Friday January 9, 2026 with Team O’Connor taking 1st place, followed by Team Azarovitz in 2nd , and Team Persechini in 3rd. Team O’Connor was composed of Dick O'Connor, Kathy Teixeira ,Bob Tennant, and Ron Venooker. . Team Azarovitz was composed of Tom Azarovitz, Michael Jones, Steve O'Brien, and Cythia Dyer. Team Persechini was composed of Dan Persechini, Barbara Sherrin, Bob Donahue, and Denise Riu.
What a wonderful way to start the new year. Our ‘Curling for a Cause’ event on January 1, 2026 was a huge success!
This past Saturday, we crowned the Founders Cup Champion after an exciting round of
playdown games.
