2026 LADIES' SUMMERSPIEL
RULES OF PLAY
- All games will be eight (8) ends; USCA Rules of Play shall govern.
- We will be following the 5-rock free guard zone rule.
- The No-Tick rule will be observed.
- Vice-skips will make measurements.:
- Teams will play the stone color indicated by the team placards.
- All draws will be timed, except finals for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th events. A draw will start with 1 hour, 50 minutes showing on the clock. When the clock zeros out, you will finish the end you have started:
- The clock will start when the first rock on any sheet is put into play.
- An end is considered “started” when the final stone of the previous end comes to a stop or is otherwise out of play.
- It is not the intention that the clock unreasonably penalizes or be used as a tactic. To this end, the draw official may, at their sole discretion, overrule the clock.
- A team not ready to play when the clock starts shall forfeit one end and one point; not ready at 1:35, forfeit a second end and point; and not ready at 1:20, shall forfeit the game. If play is started before forfeiture of the game, the non-offending team will have last stone advantage in the first end of actual play.
- All substitutes shall be supplied or approved by the Cape Cod Men’s Spiel Chair or an on-site draw official.
- Ties in the “knockout” rounds will be determined by Skip’s rocks.
- Each Skip will deliver one rock to the house. The rock closest to the button will be declared the winner.
- The team with the hammer in the end of the 8th end will throw first.
- Teams may provide a broom and have sweepers.
- In the event neither Skip’s rock stays in the house, the Vices will throw (and if needed the seconds will throw, and so on).
- In the Final Events, ties will be determined by extra end(s).
