Are you having trouble hitting the broom?  Does your accuracy decrease the harder you deliver the stone?  Is the release really a PUSH?  Need help with setting up in the hack and getting in the proper position to hit the broom?  This clinic will help with all of these issues and provide some personal "tweaking" to your delivery.  This clinic will also benefit those curlers that have been sliding for years but are now forced to go to the stick so that they can continue playing this great game.

This clinic is limited to 16 curlers.  You must register online to attend.

The Cape Cod Curling Club is offering two adult Learn to Curl sessions this year on Saturday, September 25. Both sessions last two hours and will get you ready for league play in our developmental league. Session 1 begins at 9:30 AM, session 2 begins at 12:30 PM. Each session is limited to 12 students. Upon completion of the Learn to Curl class students are invited to join our Thursday evening developmental league which meets at 8:00 PM (on a space available basis).

Are you a new skip?  Are you a new vice skip?  Do you wish to become a skip or vice skip down the road?  Are you an experienced skip?  Are you an experienced curler with some or a lot of skip and vice skip experience?  Curious why a particular shot is called?  Are you interested in improving as a curler?  If your answer to any of these questions is YES, then you should seriously consider attending this session. 

     The Cape Cod Curling Club is offering three adult Learn to Curl sessions this year. One on Tuesday, January 11 at 4:pm, and two on Thursday, January 13 at 11:00 am or 8:30 pm. All three sessions last two hours and will get you ready for league play in our developmental league. Each session is limited to 12 students (Except Thursday at 8:30 which is limited to 8). Upon completion of the Learn to Curl class students are invited to join one of the three developmental leagues which meet at the same day/time.

     The cost of the class is $80 which includes an introductory club membership. During your introductory membership you may participate in the developmental Scrod league, morning pickup curling, and other curling activities approved by the Curling Committee. You are also welcome to attend club social events. Next October you will have the opportunity to renew your membership at the intermediate membership rate of $150 or 50% of the chosen adult category annual dues, whichever is the lesser. As an intermediate member you will be able to register for any of the leagues offered in that session.

Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination is required to enter the club. 

The target audience for this session are curlers that currently skip or vice. However, it is open to all curlers. Experienced skips are encouraged to attend. Your experience and opinions will make the session more rewarding for the newer skips. You may even learn something new.

The session will be held in the warm room.

The session will be a mix of lecture, audience interaction and discussion of some specific real game situations. We will discuss and review the basics of skipping. We will look at real game situations and discuss what shot you might choose and WHY that choice is good or WHY another choice may be "better".

Some common situations:

• You are up 3 in the last end with the hammer. What is the "last" thing you want your Lead to throw?
• You are up 3 in the last end without the hammer. What is the “last” thing you want your Lead to throw?
• You are down 3 in the last end with the hammer. What call for your leads 2 stones would give you the LEAST chance of pulling out the win or tie?
• You have the hammer. Game is tied. The opponent's 1st lead stone goes into the house and sits behind the tee line. What do you call?

These situations and others will be discussed at the session.
